BJ Iwen-Strongman He/Him/They/Them
In my thirteen-year tenure in the film industry, I’ve held diverse roles in the camera department and served as a Director of Photography for the past seven years. This experience provided me with valuable insights into so many wonderful aspects of the world at large.
Before moving to Los Angeles fifteen years ago to complete a BFA in Film Studies, I worked in Contract Reconciliation for BMC Software, Scheduling and Dispatching with Shell Oil and provided high-level Tech Support for Time Warner Cable in Houston, TX.
My cinematography portfolio includes acclaimed documentary television shows like CNN's "Decade's" series, including "The 2010's." As well as notable films like "Invisible" on Amazon Prime and "Yes Repeat No," showcased at festivals worldwide. Additionally, I have helped create museum video installations in collaboration with the production company Herzog and Co for the National Comedy Center in Jamestown, NY.
A proven track record is key to any occupation and I have many years of experience managing diverse teams of creatives while maintaining tight schedules, staying within budget and maintaining client relationships. This is included in the twenty plus years of professional work experience that I bring to every project.
Throughout my journey, I have developed a passion for leading and engaging dynamic teams by drawing on my education, mentorship, and project management experience. Although I love Southern California, relocation for the right role is an option.
